Frequently Asked Questions

Step off Main Street and into a space dedicated to your physical and mental well-being. At Washougal Yoga Wellness, we provide the props, the space, and the guidance—all you need to bring is yourself. Check out our FAQs below to help prepare for your visit, and we’ll see you on the mat soon.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear to class?

Comfort is key! We recommend wearing stretchy, breathable clothing that allows you to move freely through a full range of motion. Most students prefer leggings, joggers, or athletic shorts and a comfortable t-shirt or tank top. You don’t need special footwear, as yoga is practiced barefoot.

What equipment do I need to bring?

If you have your own yoga mat, blocks, strap, or bolster, please feel free to bring them. If you are new to yoga or don’t have your own gear yet, don't worry! We provide all the necessary props for you to use during class at no extra charge.

Where should I park?

Parking is generally available directly on Main Street in front of the studio. If Main Street is full, please drive around the block and park in the lot behind the Washougal Hardware store, where we share parking spaces

Which class is right for me?

If you are brand new to yoga, we highly recommend our Tuesday 6:00 PM class, which is specifically a Beginner-Only session. It’s the perfect environment to learn the foundations at a slower pace. For those with more experience or looking for a different pace, check out our full class descriptions on the schedule page.

I’m not flexible—can I still do yoga?

Absolutely! This is the most common myth about yoga. You don’t need to be flexible to start; rather, you practice yoga to improve your flexibility, strength, and mobility. Our instructors offer modifications for every body and skill level.

Should I eat before class?

It is generally best to avoid eating a heavy meal 1–2 hours before yoga. A light snack (like fruit or a handful of nuts) is fine, but a full stomach can make certain poses and twists uncomfortable.

How early should I arrive?

For your first visit, please arrive 10–15 minutes early. This gives you time to sign a waiver, meet the instructor, and settle into the space. For returning students, 5 minutes before class is perfect.
